Welcome to the shortest month of the year
We hope you have all had a good start to the New Year. We have been busy at the kindergarten, settling in new families and finishing off our new fence. Despite the bad weather we have managed to enjoy our outside areas most days and will continue to be outside when possible throughout February. Let’s hope for an improvement in the weather!
Topics this term are displayed outside the classrooms. Starfish are wrapping up ‘Dinosaurs’ but Baby Dino Blake will continue to come home with the children, one at the time until he has been to all of you. Thank you to all the parents who searched for amazing dinosaur facts to share and looking so well after Blake when he has been on a visit.
Starfish next topic will be ‘Space’ after half term break.
Seahorses are tackling Transport next.
If you as a parent would like to contribute to your child’s topic please let us know.
Chinese New Year
This year Chinese New Year falls during half term break. The week before this we will celebrate with some dragon dancing.
This year is the year of the dog. The dog is a symbol of loyalty and honesty. People born in the year possess the best traits of human nature. They are honest, friendly, faithful, loyal, smart, straight forward, and venerable with a strong sense of responsibility. Hardly surprising Gareth was born in this year.
The year of the dog include 1946.1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018 and 2030!
Healthy eating week
Many thanks for all your support during our healthy eating week. We tasted more than seventeen varieties of fruit, we found out where they came from and how they were grown! The children loved the new fresh tastes and flavours without exception. Because of the children’s reaction we have decided to continue the policy in line with Government guidelines.
In the future we ask that all lunchboxes are prepared without sweet drinks, sweets, cakes, chocolate bars etc. There are tips for a healthy lunchbox on our website.
We hope you will work with us and help provide a healthier lifestyle for all our children.
My first poem competition…
The closing date for the competition is the 16th February. If you are interested in entering please collect a form from the office. It could result in your child’s first publication.
Those of you who have made part payment of their fees for this term please note that the second instalment is due for payment on Monday 19 February.
We rely on the prompt payment of all fees. We are a non-profit making charity without huge reserves and need a steady cash flow to pay our bills and wages. The Committee will always try to help when someone is in real difficulty, but please help us to maintain the high standards we offer.
The company will be at the Kindergarten on Sunday 4th March. Please put this date in your diary, the company provide excellent portraits at a reasonable price. Further details to follow.
World book day.
This is on 1st March. The children can dress up as their favourite story character and bring their favourite story to nursery to share with their friends. The following week will be dedicated to the books brought in by the children, and every book will be read and shared.
