Blundellsands Kindergarten
October 2019
We are approaching half term already and believe it or not need to turn our attention to Christmas!
Christmas
Our nativity play last year proved very popular and we are pleased to announce that Starfish Productions intend to run another performance this year.
Not to be left out, our Seahorse’s will also stage a Christmas sing along.
Details will follow shortly.
Clubs
Yoga will be held on Wednesday morning this term.
There are a few places left so please contact the office if you like your child to attend.
British values
In accordance with our principles the kindergarten will be celebrating the following events over the coming weeks:
Halloween W/c 29 October
Diwali W/c 05 November
Home links
Children whose guardians engage in their learning are at a significant advantage in comparison to those who do not.
Engaging parents are crucial to children’s healthy development and their future success. It is no surprise that it forms a significant part of Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
Many thanks to all of you who return the ‘home links’ promptly as it is a valuable contribution to your child’s learning.
We are keen for your involvement by sharing any skills you might have with your child’s peers.
Harvest festival hamper
We have a collection hamper placed in the hallway. Please make donations of non-perishable food. Everything collected will be donated to our local food bank.
Opening hours
Please note our open hours are 8.45am to 3.15pm. Breakfast club starts at 8.00am and is charged at an additional cost of £4.00 including breakfast. Our insurance will only cover children on the register prior to 8.45am (i.e. those registered for breakfast club). The same applies to children in the building after 3.15pm.
We will always try to help with extraordinary circumstances, but we ask that you adhere to this timetable.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Parents evening change of dates
Please note the change of dates to the following evenings:
Tuesday 6 November
Wednesday 7 November
Time slots will be displayed outside the classrooms. Please put your name down on the time slot you would like.
Wear it pink day
This year it will take place on 19 October. Wear pink, raise money and make life-saving breast cancer research happen. Donations box is in the hall.
Topics
Information on this term’s classroom topics will be displayed on the parent’s boards in the hallway.
Family and friends display
Please bring in photographs for our Family & Friends Display in both class rooms. The children love to look at each other’s pictures. It always prompts a good conversation.
Labels
Please ensure that your child’s clothes and lunch box are clearly labelled. Similar items can get mixed up because they are not named properly. ‘My name tags ‘offer a sticker solution without the need to iron or sew.
Fees
Please note that the second payment of fees will be due on 29 October 2017.
Sell, buy or swap.
